GameString and Unity Technologies to Build Hosted Exchange Game Server
Posted by Lawrence Bonk as News, Press Releases
GameString and Unity Technologies recently announced a collaboration to build a cloud-based hosted Exchange game server for Unity content in an attempt to change how games are accessed.
This partnership will leverage Unity Technologies’ 3D development platform and Web Player along with GameString’s game server. No games have been announced yet, but the companies insist the infrastructure is already in place.
David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies, said, “Unity has been hard at work democratizing game development for years, and during 2011 we are taking this further than ever before with broader platform support and easier deployment to all major gaming platforms. GameString is working on enhancing ease of access and to a broader audience than any on-device runtime technology can. We’re excited to see where the GameString platform will take this.”
