The Android OS platform, as used on the Droid X smartphone, has had it’s share of problems with Exchange users. Motorola has been issuing a series of stopgap measures to get around them. For example, some Droid X users are currently unable to set up their Microsoft Exchange accounts, while others with e-mail access do not receive any notifications. “Both of these issues will be addressed in the Android 2.2 update,” Motorola said.

The upcoming Android 2.2 OS, also known as Froyo, also brings Enterprise enhancements to the table, as well as the inclusion of flash. Look for the update to hit the Internet in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Motorola urges users to stay away from leaked copies of the OS as they have been known to cause system crashes.
