Exchange Hosting ‘Apptix

In Challenging Economy, Search Mojo Analyzes and Validates One-year ROI Advantage of Hosted Exchange Email and Hosted VoIP Business Phone Solutions for their Small Business
Herndon, VA – May 13, 2009 – Apptix (OSE: APP), the industry-leading provider of hosted Microsoft Exchange email, VoIP phone service, and SharePoint collaboration services for small and medium businesses (SMBs), today announced that Search Mojo, a Virginia-based Search Engine Marketing (SEM) firm, saved 42% in capital and recurring service costs with Apptix hosted business VoIP compared to a traditional PBX system, when measured over a one-year period.
In Q1, 2009 — in light of the difficult economy —Search Mojo proactively conducted an extensive IT analysis of its vendor relationships to determine the return on investment from each. The cost comparison of what Apptix’s hosted VoIP versus a traditional PBX phone system saved this small business over a one-year period was considerably more than expected.
“Even with our own clients, we see an increased need to continually improve ROI in this time of economic uncertainty for businesses. In our investigation, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that our relationship with Apptix has produced such a healthy business return,” said Search Mojo president and CEO Janet Driscoll Miller. “Small business leaders don’t care only about their bottom line, they also care about avoiding headaches. In some cases, the best solution might cost more, but it’s more beneficial if it saves time and ensures efficiency. In our cost, productivity, and efficiency analysis of Apptix, we confirmed that its services were – and continue to be – the right decision for our business.”
Via its MailStreet subsidiary, Apptix provides Search Mojo with reliable business communications services – hosted VoIP as well as hosted Microsoft Exchange and mobile email supporting multiple device types. Using the combination of hosted VoIP and Exchange, Search Mojo gets a cost-effective, reliable, robust email system coupled with a flexible, location-to-location phone system that is always available – whenever customers call, regardless of where employees are located.
Search Mojo’s recession-driven IT analysis also found that Apptix’s hosted solutions:
Improved Communications by Uniting its Remote Offices. With 25% of its staff working remotely, Search Mojo’s phone and email systems must connect everyone. Apptix hosted VoIP enables quick, simple extension dialing, and Exchange email unites the team, regardless of location.
Provided Easy, Hassle-free Setup. Apptix technicians listened to requirements, walked Search Mojo through the set-up process, and recommended a configuration to align with their specific business needs. After Apptix set up VoIP phones and routers for every decentralized employee, each could quickly plug-and-play.
Enabled Efficiency. For Search Mojo, key benefits of hosted Exchange and mobile device service include efficiency-building features, such as task and calendar sharing. Search Mojo employees know where busy, traveling colleagues are located, what they are up to, and when they are available. Staff can schedule meetings quickly, update tasks to meet project deadlines and deliverables, and access all of this data from a remote device or desktop.
Delivered Superior Customer Service. “My customer service expectations are so high, they are usually not met,” said Miller. “In my experience with Apptix – be it hosted Exchange, mobile devices, or hosted VoIP – expectations have been exceeded. I cannot say enough good things about Apptix’s track record in customer service.”
“Small-businesses like Search Mojo have countless daily challenges, and today’s economic climate only compounds the complexity of running a successful enterprise,” said Chris Damvakaris, vice president of sales and marketing, Apptix. “Search Mojo’s results are further validation that hosted services provide the enterprise-class capabilities with significant cost savings and the system management savvy small businesses leverage for a competitive edge.”

“In the planning stages, we had briefly considered a move to DAS,” said Kersse. “By partnering with EMC, we now have a more reliable and cost effective infrastructure and the horizontal scalability we need to continue to grow our business and deliver the service levels our customers demand. And, EMC’s local experts ensured the change was seamless to our end users.”

Web conferencing and secure IM capabilities are delivered utilizing the Microsoft OCS messaging platform, hosted by Apptix. The solution integrates seamlessly with the native Microsoft Windows operating system and familiar Microsoft business productivity and communications applications, including Outlook. This integration enables the sharing of presence information and the initiation of a Web conference directly from an email message, a secure IM chat window, or a phone call.

Expanded Hosted Services Portfolio
Additional new Apptix products accelerate the deployment of Websites and online applications, optimizing customers’ IT capabilities, reducing costs, and providing a competitive advantage in a tough economy. New products include:

* Online Presence: Features domain registration, DNS hosting, and Website hosting capabilities. Also includes tools and flexible templates to create a professional looking Website with little or no experience, making it faster and more affordable to launch a business online.
* Virtual Private Servers: Hosted VPS optimizes computing power, and enables businesses to run and manage applications on Apptix’s infrastructure at the fraction of the cost of an in-house server.

73 Percent Growth Rate Earns Apptix Second Consecutive Top 10 Ranking of World’s Largest Software Companies

Herndon, VA – November 11, 2008 – Apptix (OSE: APP), the industry-leading provider of hosted Microsoft Exchange email, VoIP phone service, and SharePoint collaboration services for small and medium businesses (SMBs), today announced its inclusion in Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers, now in its 26th year. Apptix was ranked third among companies with revenues in the $30-$50 million range with software revenue of $35,973,000, and was noted for its admirable growth rate of 73 percent.

For the second consecutive year, Apptix was ranked among the top 10 Software 500 companies. In 2007, when measured on a $10-$30 million growth chart, Apptix was named eighth on the list, based on total 2006 revenue of $20.8 million.

“The 2008 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $451.8 billion worldwide representing 14.7% growth from the previous year,” says John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. “This year, we have added more than 100 new companies to the list, and total employee head count was a modest 1.3% increase over last year.”

The Software 500 ranking comes alongside of a succession of recent Apptix accolades, including the appointment of Apptix to the 2008 Washington Business Journal Fastest Growing Companies (#6), the CRN 2008 Fast Growth 100 (#9), and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program for Virginia (#17).

“The growth that earned Apptix’s inclusion in the Software 500 for the last two years is built on the recognition by our customers and resellers that our hosted solutions provide a compelling value proposition – affordable business-class services for budget-conscious small businesses,” said David Ehrhardt, CEO of Apptix. “A proposition that is highly sought after in these economic times, and which in the upcoming year, we will continue to provide to SMB both directly, and through an expanded reseller program.”

The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.

Forty-two percent of the 2007 Software 500 companies are privately held. All rankings are based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2007. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co. and posted at www.Softwaremag.com, as well as from public documents.

Provides Push Exchange Email, Calendar, and Contact Synchronization for iPhone Business Users

Herndon, Virginia – July 11, 2008 – Apptix (OSE: APP), the industry-leading provider of hosted email, voice, and collaboration services for small and medium businesses (SMBs), today announced the availability of hosted Microsoft Exchange 2007 services for the Apple iPhone 3G via ActiveSync. This new mobile email service enables iPhone users to take full advantage of the power of Apptix hosted Microsoft Exchange email and collaboration services, elevating the iPhone to a true business communications tool—for any size company.

In support of today’s Apple announcement of the availability of ActiveSync on the iPhone, Apptix is proud to announce its new hosted Exchange service. ActiveSync enables Exchange users to gain instant, mobile access to their email, calendars, and contacts via a 128-bit encrypted SSL connection. iPhone owners can now compose, send, receive, and reply to email from wherever they are and have all of their messages delivered instantly. Outlook calendars, contacts, and email are now updated completely “over the air” (OTA) via mobile data networks.

“Small businesses typically lack the expertise to run their own Exchange servers in-house,” said Merle Sandler, Research Manager, SMB and Home Office Markets, IDC. “However, hosted iPhone Exchange services would enable them to gain the advantages, usually reserved for larger firms, of the new iPhone’s ActiveSync support.”

“Apple’s inclusion of ActiveSync mobile access means that our customers can now leverage the latest in mobile devices with the power of hosted Exchange, whether they are a one-person business or a 1000-person corporation,” said James Bond, Director of Engineering, Apptix. “Apptix applauds Apple for answering the call of business users who wish to use this innovative smartphone with Apptix’s business-class hosted email, providing an affordable means to leverage all the benefits and functionality of enterprise-class communications technology.”

iPhone ActiveSync and Apptix Hosted Exchange

Who should use it: The hosted MS Exchange and iPhone ActiveSync service is best suited for iPhone users who would like to have full use of the Microsoft Exchange messaging and collaboration solution, and who do not already have Exchange in house. Apptix’s Exchange service is a fully-hosted offering that Apptix operates for businesses on a monthly subscription basis.

How it works: The new iPhone 3G, and original iPhones with the installed 2.0 software update, requires an active subscription to the Apptix hosted Exchange service plan with the ActiveSync option. This set-up enables full push synchronization of email, calendar, and contacts to the iPhone from an Apptix subscriber’s hosted Exchange account. For Exchange 2007 users, configuring the iPhone to work with their hosted Exchange account is as easy as entering their username, email address, and password—the iPhone automatically discovers the Apptix Exchange server farm (2003 users will need to manually configure the iPhone).
