USA.NET: Tech Data U.S. Adds Hosted Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and BlackBerry Services

Posted by admin as Press Releases, USA.net

Delivers Secure, Device Agnostic Mobility Services To Enterprises On-Demand

CLEARWATER, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2008) – Tech Data Corporation today announced a distribution agreement with USA.NET, a leader in business e-mail hosting. Tech Data customers now have access to a broad suite of hosted services, including Microsoft Exchange 2007, Microsoft SharePoint 3.0, integrated support for BlackBerry and other mobile devices, and e-mail archiving and security. USA.NET services can all be branded as the reseller’s own and sold to their customers on a monthly subscription.

“Whether you’re a small business or a FORTUNE 500 company, robust, secure collaboration tools are essential,” said Tech Data Senior Vice President, U.S. Marketing Joe Quaglia. “USA.NET’s hosted SaaS offerings enable even the smallest businesses to take advantage of enterprise-class e-mail and other collaboration services with little or no investment in additional IT infrastructure or technical expertise. This represents an opportunity for resellers to offer their SMB customers advanced collaboration solutions as a managed service to generate valuable recurring revenue.”

“Our partnership with Tech Data enables us to engage their nationwide network of resellers, who are ideally suited to introduce USA.NET hosted e-mail services to small and medium sized businesses,” said Doug Howard, president, USA.NET. “The marketplace is at a tipping point where VARs are looking to distributors much more than ever before to help them enhance their portfolios with software-as-a-service offerings. This is driven in large part by a heightened demand for on-demand services such as secure hosted e-mail on the part of their end-user customers.”

USA.NET hosted services enable more efficient communication and information sharing between employees, customers and other stakeholders. Services available through Tech Data include:

* Microsoft Exchange 2007 – Provides full access to Microsoft Exchange 2007 e-mail, calendar, attachments, contacts and other collaboration capabilities
* Microsoft SharePoint – Boosts productivity through more efficient document sharing and task management from a secure central source
* Mobile Messaging – Enhances productivity and responsiveness with integrated support for ActiveSync, Good™ Mobile Messaging, BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, iPhone and other mobile devices
* E-mail Archiving – Assists regulatory compliance, legal discovery, storage and business continuity
* Enhanced Messaging – Adds additional services to e-mail, including content filtering, encrypted e-mail, instant messaging and directory synchronization
* Advanced Security Services – Protect critical information assets from e-mail threats with virus protection, spam control and content filtering

“Selling hosted Microsoft solutions through USA.NET is an opportunity for our VAR partners to offer customers—ranging from small businesses to large enterprises—the most robust collaboration solutions available on the market today,” said Rob Moyer, director, U.S. Distribution, Microsoft Corp. “Additionally, doing so as a monthly subscription is a tremendous way for VARs to build profits and establish a managed services practice.”

Its nine geographically distributed operations centers and three redundant data centers provide 24×7 monitoring and management.
