I use this company for email for my small design firm, and their service has always been great. I’ve had a few problems with my Blackberry, but it has always turned out to be the network rather than their service.

We signed up our 90 seat company last March, and have had a great experience with this provider. We had researched a handful of providers, and while Mi8 wasn’t the cheapest, they were by far the most professional when we talked with them (and their pricing was competitive). As for the service: WOW. We had a few users with wacky setups, and their support team has been incredible. One guy in particular, Carlos, seems like he’s there 24 hours a day, never sleeping. But everybody we’ve dealt with there has been professional, has known what they’re talking about, and have been incredibly helpful. This is as good as it gets.

We’re a 75 person company who had been having horrible problems with our internal email service. We priced out hosting services, and while there were a few small companies with cheaper prices, these guys really seemed to have their act together. The migration was flawless, and the service has been perfect!

I’ve had my email with these guys for over two years. Great people, great mail. We signed up after our old email system got a bad virus, and now we don’t have to worry about it anymore. The best compliment I can pay them is that I never even think about my email system anymore. It’s just there, working all the time.

One of my IT guys turned us on to this service, and it’s great. Fast setup, responsive to all requests, and a seemingly unlimited number of options – we have some people using the Treo, some using the BlackBerry, some on the Palm, and they support it all. MI8 isn’t as cheap as some of their competitors, but I’m really getting my money’s worth. No downtime to speak of, except for some maintenance on Saturday nights at mindnight. We’ve been on the service for about 8 months.

Had problems with old email supplier, signed up with MI8, and have had perfect service ever since. Really oustanding.

This company has given me exactly what I wanted, in that I NEVER think about my email any more. No viruses, no spam, no downtime – it just always, always works. I was with a competitor for a while that was a dollar or so cheaper, but once or twice a month I was having problems with them. Since I switched, no problems – none. End of sentence.

Absolutely the best exchange provider you can find.
I have dealt with several and nobody can come close to their level of reliability and technical expertise.

My company recently signed up with Mi8 and it has been nothing but smooth sailing. Great system with a great interface.

A few times I would call and was holding for over an hour. I know the company is small and there is the risk that they may not be around. The service is okay…and it is nice to have a full outlook application.

My former company had used their service and it seemed to work well. However, when I inquired about an individual account, I did not have a good experience with Mi8′s sales person. The information that is provided for opening an account can be overwhelming for an individual user, who does not have advanced tech knowledge. I was also concerned that they catered to larger businesses rather than individual users and had asked if I could speak to a reference who was an individual user client. I was initially told that they would provide me with references and then was told that references were only provided for their “larger” prospective clients. I don’t know if this attitude of large businesses come first also applies to their customer support. Perhaps, if you can get past the sales person making you feel unimportant and bothersome as an individual user, you may be able to actually experience the real value of their service. However, since first impressions are lasting ones, I am opting not to find out.

When I started with Forest Capital Partners, (“FCP”) in December, I was told I would be the E-Mail administrator and run the project to move us to an Exchange Service. When I began working with the first and second tier support during our conversion process, they would help explain the process and next steps in terms that I would understand. Even providing diagrams. I was had not used Outlook before so I had a larger than normal learning curve than other administrators. My fears were quickly put to rest each time I worked with Jacob or Biju, and a host of many others when I would call for assistance.
I have also had great experience and fast turn-around times when I submit my questions, issues or troubles through the support e-mail address.
I have and would recommend Mi8′s hosting services to other businesses.

I don’t think that they really put any effort into perfecting their business processes, I cannot think of any pros, their service was mediocre and somewhat expensive. They didn’t offer enough storage space for my company and I had to pay extra for the space I did eventually require. This was two years ago so I wouldn’t take my word for it but they seem to be a bit more on top of their game now

Reliable uptime, good interface. Cons would be that their tech support staff was the WORST I became a referral partner, BIG mistake. The staff is condescending and for someone to be condescending you should have the knowledge to back that up. THEY DID NOT. oblivious to the workings of Exchange

We have been down down for 24 hours and apptixs has no ETA, the support center while very nice has no ability to get me the answers need to get my users back up and running. I have no escalation path because tech support is not allowed to talk to the customers. Our email was out of business for a week during a forced migration to their servers when they bought Mi8 and now 6 months later I have lost another full day. And I am still waiting to talk to a manager with a plan. I would not recommend them.

I selected Apptix for email exchange hosting because they provided Outlook 2007 program for free. As mentioned in an earlier review, the migration process was terrible. Their customer service rep had to access my computer to fix the migration problem because communication from Apptix is confusing, and their online account access is even worse. The worse part is with almost every email I send out, I wait…and wait for “connection to server”, even though I’m already logged in. Access to my contacts for searching is even slower, I get the “waiting for connection” or connection is disconnected. The problem is getting more frequent and will be shopping for new provider. Apptix does provide “web access” but it Outlook is the “light” version, so basically worthless, except to check incoming emails. On the positive side, Apptix is reasonably priced for small businesses, ample storage, but connectivity is a real problem and I’m using high speed broad band.

Worked fairly well. However, I had to cancel service with them well within the 30 day no-charge period. Despite repeated calls, e-mails, and letters, my one month $18.90 charge was not refunded. I was unfortunately forced to dispute the charge with American Express. All I can say is that if they have been this tightfisted with my $18.90, I don’t hold much hope for costs associated with much larger accounts…

No screens for the management of Blackberry or iPhone security poilicies. No process to have customer initiated changes – even if they are required by industry. Technical staff is small and often off the desk. We have experience several outages based on when they initiate failovers and hotfixes.

I have been blown away at how bad the support and service was. I actually read the reviews on this page when I made my decision to move a client from Go Daddy’s hosted Exchange services to Apptix. Ever since we went to them we have been having problems, and the majority of them haven’t been resolved. And my favorite is when they close the ticket and the problem hasn’t been fixed!! We had an issue where one of the accounts said “updating” and kept any of our other accounts from being added. It took them days to resolve that. And that account still says “Updating’ next to it! My client finally said “I’ve given them every chance to resolve our problems and they have done nothing. it’s time to find another service.” I feel so bad because Apptix was well reviewed. Do not believe it!! They are horrible, I personally think it’s because they just went to Exchange 2010 before my client signed on, and I don’t think they have the 2010 servers working right yet. But I won’t be sticking around to find out.

We used to be customers of Mi8 which was acquired by Apptix (also the owner of Mailstreet).
After having been a customer of Mi8 for over 8 years, we have had nothing but trouble with Apptix/Mailstreet:
1. We have constant interruptions of our service. We have at least issues every single month with activesync not working, the exchange server not working, or something like it. CONSTANTLY THE SERVICE IS NOT WORKING!
2. Apptix will sell you more service than they can actually provide. We have one very heavy exchange user with multiple folders and thousands of items in his mailbox. Although Apptix gladly charges you for multiple GB of space for mailboxes, they cannot actually provide that service! THEY CHARGE FOR SERVICE THAT THEY CANNOT OR WILL NOT PROVIDE! And when we asked for a discount in pricing, since they are clearly charging us for service that they are unable or unwilling to provide, customer service gets rude, which brings me to my next point …
3.. Customer service is just rude. They will not help you with issues and the standard answer seems to be that nothing seems to be wrong on their end and that they will get back to you … which happens hours later when they admit that there was some issue on their server.
4. Pricing. Apptix is just plain more expensive than any other exchange provider. They have hidden fees and charges for everything and customer service will attempt to charge you for technical support, even if the issue is on their side! And forget about ever getting a discount, if you complain about interruptions to service. We would gladly pay their higher prices if it meant that our emails “just worked” without anybody having to worry about or troubleshoot it.
Verdict: STAY AWAY!

So, billing sends an e-mail to an account THEY BLOCKED that the credit card I use for billing was expired. Then they terminated the account, and announced that it would be $50 to re-activate, even though I called them with a new credit card. That is six months of usage!
“Fine,” I said. I asked them to either give me access to the account for a few hours to make sure I have all the e-mails backed up and deleted off their servers.
To my shock, they said that if I wanted access to my data, I had to pay them… wait for it… $50!!! AND they would not promise that the data was still on their server. Two weeks after they couldn’t process the account, the threat was that the data had been DELETED. It would cost me $50 to find out. If they had deleted the account, it would cost me $150 for them to retrieve it from their tape backup.
Finally, one tech said to me: “You know, if you set up your computer the way we tell you to, you already have a copy of your e-mails on the local computer. I can’t tell you how to back that up to a disk, but you can Google it. It is really very easy.”
So after huge attitude by the customer service representative and supervisor, it turns out the $150 charge is a SCAM. Not only would it take them less than 5 minutes to save the emails to a file, you most likely already have them on your computer. Funny that the neither the customer service rep or the manager mentioned that!!
Avoid these rip off artist. They have the typical bank/insurance company/multi-national corporation attitude of your an idiot, you follow our rules, and you’ll LIKE IT!

We recently starting using Apptix for hosted exhange, the system is unworkable and slow. We have contacted Apptix and all they have are excuses, and say that they will work on the issues. If you want to pay for a hosted exchange where you have to wait and watch a blue spinning circle and have a system which is unworkable, then Apptix is for you.

Overall a good company, but their biggest issue is the number of down times. They do not notify you when their is a problem with their service i.e. email delays or server issues. It’s something you end up figuring out yourself and are left on hold for 1+hrs just to get a yes, we know and we are working on it. I think customers deserve more.

A few years ago Apptix was decent. However, every year it seems they stealthily go more expensive. They advertise email service starting at around $8 a month. But what they won’t tell you is that they’ll then tack on $20 a month for obligatory premium support. I say obligatory because you have no choice, either pay it or leave. And if you already paid you are free to leave, but they’re keeping your money either way, because what ever you pay is non refundable.
Expect to pay on the order of $50 a month for email service! Also the obligatory premium support is hardly premium. Expect to wait on the phone listening to music for about 20 minutes before you get to someone.
