Not everyone is keen on Exchange. We all know that. There are, however, more alternatives than ever before. You may remember, when Exchange 2007 dropped, it was kind of a haul to get it working. Generally speaking, Kerio MailServer and Zimbra Collaboration Suite receive the highest marks. They both offer a good combination of multi-platform interoperability, a good end-user experience and solid Outlook integration.

CommuniGate Pro has been praised for it’s VoIP integration and high performance. This is the go-to program for system managers wanted to come at things from a different angle.

Scalix Enterprise Edition has received fair marks, with several reviewers noting it’s lack of integrated management. Also, MailSite Fusion was knocked down a few pegs for it’s lack of a MAPI connector.
