This partnership extends EOS’s current offering, enabling the company to provide clients of all sizes with full-featured archiving solutions designed to alleviate email storage concerns, expedite legal discovery requests, meet compliance requirements and enhance end user productivity.
EOS was founded to bring the versatility and scalability of the SaaS delivery model to organizations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “We’re looking to provide the EMEA region with all the assets that cloud-based email archiving brings to the table,” said Martin Blackmore, cofounder and director of EOS. “By offering rapid deployment capabilities and eliminating ongoing maintenance requirements and licensing fees, hosted solutions provide our clients with rich archiving capabilities minus the huge upfront capital investment.”
“We are very excited to welcome EOS to our partner program,” said Jim O’Hara, vice president of sales and business development for LiveOffice. “We believe that its specialized expertise in the European market combined with our award-winning technology will deliver the perfect combination of products and services to EMEA-based companies in need of cloud-based archiving and e-discovery solutions.”
IDC, a leading analyst firm, forecasts a compound annual growth rate of 23.9 percent worldwide for the hosted email archiving market during the 2007–2019 period.1 In addition, market research firm Radicati Group indicates that hosted email mailboxes in EMEA will grow from 398 million mailboxes this year to 564 million mailboxes by 2020.2 These numbers reflect the growth of broadband Internet availability, which has in turn increased organizations’ interest in hosted email and archiving solutions.
“An increasing number of our clients are inquiring about email archiving solutions delivered via the SaaS model, and we want to make sure we are able to provide them with the best products available—both to meet the needs of their IT departments as well as their end users,” said Mark Thomason, director for EOS. “With LiveOffice’s outstanding reputation in North America, we are confident that its hosted archiving offering is the right fit for our clients’ variety of needs.”

LiveOffice “Pre-Migration Diet” Reduces Cost and Effort of Moving from Exchange 2003 and 2007
TORRANCE, Calif., September 1, 2009 — LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS), email archiving, email hosting and email continuity solutions, today announced that it has become the first email archiving provider to support Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. In addition to providing the e-discovery, mailbox management and compliance benefits of email archiving for Exchange Server 2010 users, LiveOffice’s hosted email archiving solution reduces the time and cost of migrating to the new platform by moving existing email data to a secure cloud prior to migration.
“The pending release of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is generating a significant amount of interest in the market,” said Brian Babineau, senior analyst with Enterprise Strategy Group. “Many of the inquiries we are fielding center on Exchange 2010 upgrade and migration strategies. We strongly believe that the implementation of an archiving solution is a great first step to prepare for an upgrade, as it allows companies to copy and secure legacy messages and attachments to an accessible and fully searchable, non-production environment. Executing the archive process with a SaaS provider such as LiveOffice frees up internal resources to help plan and execute the upgrade when the organization is ready.”
LiveOffice Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 “Pre-Migration Diet”
To make the transition to Exchange Server 2010 smoother, LiveOffice provides a simple process for shrinking customers’ Exchange data stores prior to moving them, thus speeding up the transition process.
LiveOffice Personal Archive: First, clients enable journaling on their existing mail servers, allowing LiveOffice to capture data in its secure cloud, which effectively eliminates the need to migrate that data in the future. With Personal Archive’s robust architecture, end users are able to view all archived email (legacy and current) from the comfort of their Microsoft Outlook client.
LiveOffice CloudMerge for Microsoft Exchange: Next, clients can leverage LiveOffice’s proprietary CloudMerge technology to automatically and securely transfer data from existing Microsoft Exchange 2003 or 2007 mail stores to LiveOffice Personal Archive. Again, this data is available for view by end users directly from Microsoft Outlook.
LiveOffice CloudMerge for PST Files: LiveOffice’s CloudMerge technology is also able to securely ingest an organization’s PST files into the centrally managed, hosted archive—eliminating the most common source of data loss and IT headaches.
“Skinny Migration:” With all historical and ongoing email securely stored in LiveOffice’s cloud-based archive, IT administrators only need to migrate a small amount of data to their upgraded Exchange 2010 environment.
Finally, an organization’s relationship with LiveOffice doesn’t end once the migration is complete. With legacy data safely ingested into the cloud-based archive, organizations can delete messages from the mail server as needed to improve server performance and reduce the risk of data loss. In addition, auditors and other authorized personnel have easy access to a centralized archive of messages where they can perform advanced searches and retrieve data on demand from the archive to satisfy legal and compliance requests. Simultaneously, end users have access to their personal archives and can instantly find emails and attachments they need, even if they no longer reside in their inbox or on the corporate mail server.

Company’s Archiving Project Takes Flight with Deployment Across 11 Facilities
TORRANCE, Calif., August 27, 2009 — LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS), email archiving, email hosting and email continuity solutions, today announced that Windsor Foods has deployed LiveOffice Personal Archive and LiveOffice Discovery Archive to provide unlimited storage capacity, improved server performance and e-discovery capabilities to its more than 600 users spread throughout 11 U.S. facilities.
A national provider of frozen food products, Windsor Foods required a scalable email archiving and e-discovery solution to address its rapidly growing data stores, which were pushing the company’s in-house mail servers to near capacity and beginning to cause performance issues. Windsor Foods’ Vice President of Information Technology, Stephan Henze, knew they had to make a choice: “Start deleting, buy more storage or start archiving.”
Following a lengthy evaluation of the leading on-premise email archiving providers, Henze —once a skeptic of the SaaS delivery model —determined that a hosted email archiving solution would be the best fit. “SaaS is definitely the way to go for email archiving because of the amount of data involved, especially when you consider the total cost of ownership of an on-premise solution, which includes added costs for backups, storage and disaster recovery,” Henze notes.
In addition, Windsor Foods needed an archiving solution with e-discovery functionality and Discovery Archive proved to be the best match. “I felt it was important to implement an e-discovery solution as a best practice,” Henze added. “It’s quite a bit of work to retrieve data. We may or may not have it. An email archiving solution makes responding to e-discovery requests much easier—and faster. We know our data is there, and finding it would be a much more labor-intensive process without Discovery Archive. Plus, the interface is very clean and easy to navigate. There’s not a need for a lot of training —after only 15 minutes, I could easily do it.”
Windsor Foods believes that enhanced search capabilities will also greatly improve user productivity, since end users can now retrieve lost or deleted data from their own archives without involving IT or help desk staff. “We expect that Personal Archive will have a long-term positive impact on our day-to-day operations,” said Henze.
Henze also recalls the immediate benefit he experienced when using Personal Archive’s search functionality for the first time —“It’s much easier to locate information, using LiveOffice Personal Archive instead of Outlook search. I needed to find a PDF file in an email that was two-and-a-half years old. I conducted a search with only a couple parameters and quickly found it with the search filters.”
Another benefit of selecting a SaaS archiving solution was the rapid implementation process. Henze remarks, “It was easy to deploy without interrupting normal business operations, and the learning curve was short.” Once deployed, the company saw a bump in overall system performance and legacy data became easier to manage and recover. “It’s much faster to find things in searches with the LiveOffice email archiving solutions. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our vendor choice,” said Henze.

Industry Recognition and Software-as-a-Service Adoption
Drive Archiving Client Base to 9,000
TORRANCE, Calif., August 3, 2009 — LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS), email archiving, email hosting and email continuity solutions, today reported record-setting revenue for the second quarter of 2009. The strong financial results were driven by increased demand for cloud-based technologies, the launch of proprietary automated migration technology and expansion into new channels.
“We are extremely excited about our continued growth and the leadership role we have taken in the rapidly expanding, highly competitive SaaS archiving industry. As more organizations look to offload IT tasks to the cloud, archiving via the SaaS model is becoming a hot topic,” said Nick Mehta, CEO of LiveOffice. “This is also the perfect opportunity for us to thank our 9,000 existing clients for their continued loyalty. We are 100-percent committed to the continued improvement of our services to meet their needs.”
Second quarter highlights include:
Industry recognition: LiveOffice was recently recognized by industry leading analyst firm Gartner Inc. as the largest provider of outsourced email archiving services in North America, based on total number of clients as of Dec. 31, 2008.¹ The company also received accolades from the Technology Council of Southern California as a finalist for its 2009 Emerging Software Company of the Year award.
Launch of proprietary LiveOffice CloudMerge migration technology: Until now, a major barrier to adopting a cloud-based archiving service has been migrating data from existing stores. The CloudMerge tools, a suite of user friendly applications and connectors, fully automate the migration, ingestion and consolidation of legacy data. These first-of-their-kind tools help organizations of all sizes capture data from a variety of mailbox sources, including on-premise email stores, hosted email stores, legacy email archives and personal archives.
First Hybrid Partnership: LiveOffice and Mimosa Systems forged the first partnership between on-premise and cloud-based email archiving providers. The companies joined forces to develop a beta version of LiveOffice CloudMerge for Mimosa NearPoint, which seamlessly connects Mimosa’s on-premise archive with LiveOffice’s cloud-based archive. The tool delivers cost-effective, long-term storage and expedited external e-discovery for on-premise Microsoft Exchange Server environments.
Expansion into New Channels: This quarter, LiveOffice pioneered the first-ever email archiving plugin for the Spiceworks IT management portal, enabling companies to implement a fully featured cloud-based email archiving solution with a simple, five-click installation process. This development effort puts the company’s technology at the fingertips of the Spiceworks community, with a membership including more than 700,000 information technology professionals.
Client Retention & Renewals: LiveOffice recorded high retention rates and renewals in part due to the company’s increased focus on client service. As part of this initiative, the company unveiled its Client Bill of Rights, which pledges to maintain absolute transparency and honest communication with LiveOffice’s growing client base.

Industry Leaders Deliver Predictable Storage Costs and Expedited eDiscovery
TORRANCE, Calif., June 23, 2009 — LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS), email hosting, email archiving and email continuity solutions, today announced beta availability of LiveOffice CloudMerge for Mimosa NearPointTM, a software application that seamlessly connects Mimosa’s on-premise archive to LiveOffice’s cloud-based archive. The joint offering leverages the best of both infrastructures to deliver cost-effective, long-term storage and expedited external eDiscovery for on-premise Microsoft Exchange Server environments.
“We have been a longtime client of the Mimosa NearPoint solution. Until now, we have used Mimosa’s archiving solution to cull emails for discovery and then exported those messages to physical media for our citizens to review for FOIA requests,” said Santhosh Samuel of Palm Beach County, Florida. “With LiveOffice CloudMerge for Mimosa NearPoint, we are able to give cloud-based review to our attorneys, partners and citizens in a ‘neutral’ environment, while reducing the cost and time involved in processing eDiscovery and FOIA requests.”
“Organizations should not be deciding whether or not to archive email – they should be determining how,” said Brian Babineau, senior analyst with Enterprise Strategy Group. “Previously, customers had to choose between an on-premise or software-as-a-service implementation model. Mimosa and LiveOffice’s partnership makes the ‘how’ decision much easier, enabling organizations to experience the best of both worlds by supplementing long-term storage and offline access with a cost-effective cloud option that translates into predictable, fixed storage costs and more efficient eDiscovery review. This hybrid approach delivers tremendous value to organizations faced with uncertain storage costs and complex eDiscovery and FOIA requests.”
Available today, the beta version of LiveOffice CloudMerge for Mimosa NearPoint delivers two key benefits to joint customers:
Unlimited Tiered Storage Option (UTSO): With UTSO, enterprises can implement a tiered storage archive, where recent data is kept in local storage with NearPoint, while older content is moved to LiveOffice using the CloudMerge tool and stored at a low, fixed monthly price. Moving data transparently to the cloud means content, regardless of size, can be stored infinitely with no ongoing management required. With this model, storage costs remain fixed, providing IT managers, CIOs and CFOs with the added benefit of expense predictability.
Expedite External eDiscovery Review: The solution can be configured to seamlessly push select, on-premise content to LiveOffice to support eDiscovery and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. This transparent movement of data via the LiveOffice CloudMerge tool provides a secure “neutral” zone where custodians, legal counsel, case assessment managers, citizens and partners can easily review messages online, eliminating the need for manual processing and export to physical media. CloudMerge for NearPoint enables enterprises to fully satisfy legal and operational demands, resulting in greater compliance and organizational efficiencies.
CloudMerge for Mimosa NearPoint provides companies with the ultimate flexibility by satisfying both short and long-term retention policies and helping to ease the data storage debate within organizations. Mimosa clients benefit from the ability to easily send as much or as little of their archived data as they like to the cloud. In addition, it eases the burden on internal IT resources by providing network administrators with a way to make permitted data easily accessible to end users or external third parties. The CloudMerge application also means that LiveOffice clients can benefit from meeting granular, folder-based retention policies that require storing certain data on-premise, while still achieving cost efficiencies by storing some data in the cloud. Plus, the Mimosa NearPoint solution enables LiveOffice users to perform more forensic searches of their on-premise Exchange Server.

The beta version of LiveOffice CloudMerge for Mimosa NearPoint is available beginning today. Please contact LiveOffice or Mimosa Systems for pricing information.

Plugin Provides Free Cloud-based Email Archiving with Unlimited Storage
TORRANCE, Calif., June 22, 2009 — LiveOffice, the leading provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS), email hosting, email archiving and email continuity solutions, today announced the availability of its LiveOffice Mail Archive plugin for Spiceworks’s community of more than 700,000 information technology (IT) professionals. While Spiceworks is the first to provide the IT industry with free network management software, LiveOffice is the first to provide its community members with a free plugin for email archiving. This application helps users better manage their messaging environments and eliminates the need for mailbox quotas and PST file storage, while also ensuring that email is always accessible and available with a built-in continuity feature.
“LiveOffice automates the email archiving setup and implementation process, which is traditionally an enormous operational burden for customers wanting to save messages for extended periods of time,” said Brian Babineau, senior analyst for Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG). “They’ve put an easy-to-use, turnkey archiving solution at the fingertips of IT professionals worldwide, providing a variety of organizations with the opportunity to experience the benefits of email archiving firsthand without any sort of long-term commitment.”
How It Works
With a simple, five-click installation process, LiveOffice Mail Archive plugin users are up and archiving in hours, rather than weeks or months—without ever speaking to a customer service agent. Once installation of the plugin is complete, your network administrator enables journaling on the Microsoft Exchange Server to begin archiving messages and attachments. In addition to the monitoring capabilities provided by Spiceworks, the plugin adds a visual representation of what’s taking place in your email archive through the use of a dynamic pie chart. It displays the total size of your archive, the total number of emails archived and an individual breakdown of archive consumption per user. End users also have the option to deploy a fully integrated web folder that resides in their existing Microsoft Outlook client and enables them to instantly search and restore old emails and attachments stored in the archive. Plus, users with administrative rights have the ability to create policy alerts based on specific keywords, monitor phrase violations and tag emails for further review and/or investigation.
“We’re thrilled to have the LiveOffice Mail Archive plugin available to the 700,000 Spiceworks small business IT pros,” said Scott Abel, co-founder and CEO of Spiceworks. “It’s a great way to help them tap into the power of archiving, storage and continuity services in the cloud – all from within their daily workflow in Spiceworks.”
Pricing & Availability
The LiveOffice Mail Archive plugin is available through Spiceworks at no charge for the first five users. Organizations looking to archive more than five users can contact LiveOffice directly for more information and pricing.
