Microsoft announces the launch of Lync 2010

Microsoft has officially unveiled the latest version of its converged communications platform,Lync, which has added conferencing capabilities, high definition voice and cloud options.
New about this release are features that add flexibility to voice calls, improved user interface that makes the system easier to use, and greater interoperability features that enable customers to reduce costs thanks to increased use of converged communications, according to Microsoft.
One of the most interesting news is Microsoft Live Meeting for audio, video and web conferencing, which makes Lync a “unified platform for business conferences and other telephone needs,” says the company.

Lync has been a huge success in our office. WE’ve been able to get a lot more out of features that we had, but weren’t as proficient in. like video conferencing. WE’ve been able to tap our Microsoft Lync Provider to come up with some pretty creative ways to integrate the Lync platform into our own local software. We have some proprietary tools which have prevented us from using other solutions, but Lync has overcome those obstacles.
