NitroDesk, the makers of TouchDown, a Microsoft® Exchange server synchronization solution for Android-powered devices, has announced Version 7 of TouchDown. The latest version builds upon the previous releases by adding several new capabilities to the mix. Among the new features are enhanced corporate configuration, optimized quick access views, enhanced contacts views, easier calendar navigation, quick access to tasks and notes and a new user interface for tablets. The new version sports lower battery utilization as well as some important reliability fixes and better draft email handling. Version 7 also brings resizable and scrollable widgets to the tablet version of TouchDown when run on a device that runs Honeycomb 3.1 or later.

The new enterprise corporate configuration allows administrators to set security policies and default application preferences for TouchDown when users connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. Administrators can control how TouchDown performs when connected to the server by creating a special configuration file on the Internet Information Services (IIS) server that hosts Microsoft ActiveSync®. Go get em, tigers!
