Visual versioning for Cloud Files will be now supported by SMEStorage. The company’s Cloud File Server offering will now support visual versioning of files in the Web platform.

Files that have been edited or changed by users of the Cloud File Server now can be identified and managed easily with the addition of visual versioning to the Web hosted exchange application. Not bad.

In a press release, Ian Osborne, CEO of SMEStorage, said, “We’ve done a lot of work on enhancing our collaboration features for users of our Cloud File Server SaaS platform. The Cloud File Server Admin can manage whether files versioning is turned on or off, and can also choose whether versioned files are visible in desktop and mobile clients.”

Osborne continued, “Also remember that versioning works on files above any of the numerous storage clouds that are supported by the SMEStorage platform. This means that the same files shared between organisations and stored on different storage clouds can still be tracked and versioned as if they resided on the same data service.”
