GULF BREEZE, FL, September 25, 2007 – AppRiver LLC, a leading provider of managed email security solutions, today announced a milestone in its growth as an IT Services company as it became a recipient of the 2007 Florida Governor’s Business Diversification Awards.

The awards program, sponsored annually by Enterprise Florida (EFI), recognizes companies for diversifying and enriching the state’s economy through job creation and distinctive community involvement and investment.

Recently ranked by Inc. Magazine as the fastest growing private IT Services company in Florida, AppRiver was one of 12 Florida companies honored by Governor Charlie Crist at a ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion in Tallahassee.

Florida companies competed for the awards in five leadership categories: Business Expansion, Entrepreneurship, Export Excellence, Innovation, and Newcomer. Each nominee competed with other companies, organizations, universities and colleges in similarly sized markets, including Mid Market (county population up to 75,000); Major Market (county population 75,001 to 750,000) and Mega Market (county population 750,001 and higher).

AppRiver was recipient of the award as Florida’s top Major Market business in the “Entrepreneurial” category.

AppRiver helps businesses, government agencies and institutions increase network security and boost productivity with its SecureTide™ spam and virus prevention service and High Availability Hosted Microsoft Exchange™ powered by Akamai.

The five-year old company, which has 70 employees and boasts more than 25,000 total customers worldwide, also develops core spam detection technologies that it makes available under license to equipment suppliers and other service providers.

“AppRiver is deeply committed to expanding our Florida-based operations as we deliver new and important email security and messaging collaboration services to our global customer base,” commented AppRiver’s CEO Michael Murdoch, who co-founded the company with Chief Technology Officer Joel Smith. “Our location in Santa Rosa County has been instrumental in our success by enabling us to attract highly-skilled workers thanks to the affordable cost of living and outstanding quality of life in the Pensacola Bay area.”
