Now every UK organisation can compete with the big boys

October 18 2006, Warrington UK. In a paper just published on the Simply Mail Solutions? Website, Bill Unsworth discusses the new mail services that are now available to SMEs and their advantages over the current POP3/SMTP systems.

http://www.simplymailsolutions.com/news_and_analysis.asp

The paper discusses the new mail systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Zimbra and how they work. ?It also outlines the benefits of using these systems to promote collaborative and remote working within smaller organisations.

It also points out that not only can these systems synchronize mail, contacts and calendars between devices such as your desktop PC, notebook and mobile phone but they also provide an invaluable continuous back up function in the event of hardware failure or loss.

TORRANCE, Calif., October 17, 2006 LiveOffice Corp.’s (www.liveoffice.com) AdvisorSquare division, the nation’s #1 provider of financial advisor websites, today became the only website provider in the financial services industry to provide independent broker-dealers with advanced custom publishing options. As the newest addition to AdvisorSquare’s existing Web Connect Program, the Click-to-Publish Toolkit creates an additional marketing channel for broker-dealers, while helping to increase compliance control over content displayed on their registered representatives’ websites.

With AdvisorSquare’s Click-to-Publish Toolkit, broker-dealers can create website content at the corporate level and then with a single click of the mouse, publish it simultaneously to their field representatives’ websites. In addition, any time the corporate office makes an edit to content that is already live; it will make the edit across all websites carrying that particular message. Essentially, AdvisorSquare’s Click-to-Publish Toolkit ensures that consistent program marketing messages appear on the corporate site as well as on registered representatives’ websites. It also helps to keep content up-to-date and in-compliance with regulatory requirements. The Toolkit’s convenient one-click editing and content posting options streamline the entire program marketing effort, while easing the compliance burden on busy supervisory departments.

“The Custom Publishing Toolkit provides broker-dealers with unparalleled marketing reach online. It used to be that broker-dealers hoped their representatives would promote special offers and programs on their websites,” said Michele McGarry, AdvisorSquare’s business development director. “Now the corporate office knows exactly what is being promoted on each representatives website and they even have the ability to edit the content in real-time and publish the updates simultaneously on all representative websites.”

Since 1998, AdvisorSquare’s Web Connect program has helped hundreds of broker-dealers create website programs for their representatives. Now with 74% of the nation’s leading broker-dealers as partners, AdvisorSquare is the nation’s #1 provider of financial advisor websites. In outsourcing their website program to LiveOffice, corporate offices are able to focus internal activities on their core competencies and revenue-generating activities. In turn, LiveOffice leverages its core competencies in website development, marketing and management to provide broker-dealers with a turnkey website program that simultaneously meets the creative needs of representatives and the critical compliance department requirements of the Corporate office.

DES MOINES, Iowa; (October 3, 2006) – LightEdge Solutions Inc., a leader in converged data networking, voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) and managed IT business services today announced that three separate orthopedic clinics in southern California will work directly with LightEdge Solutions as the hosting provider for their electronic medical records (EMR) rather than traditional application service provider (ASP) hosting through the EMR software vendor. The three clinics, representing 27 physicians, 200 total software users and 16 locations, banded together to leverage experience and take advantage of economies of scale in purchasing.

In this third-party hosting model, the EMR software is installed and hosted in one of LightEdge’s secure, redundant data centers that is monitored 24/7 and provides inherent disaster recovery benefits. Care providers and medical staff are able to ensure HIPAA compliance via secure access to the EMR system through a private high-speed connection to the LightEdge Solutions network or a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. Hosting service and support is provided by LightEdge industry-certified networking technicians while the EMR software support is provided by the EMR software manufacturer.

“All three clinics wanted an EMR solution without the care and feeding of additional on-site servers. Without a full-time technical person on staff or a core competency in IT, it seemed risky to support the EMR ourselves,” said Stephanie Roman, administrator of Orthopedic Consultants Medical Group.

Late in 2005, the Center for Orthopaedic Specialists, Orthopedic Consultants Medical Group and Ventura Orthopedic and Sports Medicine clinics launched a joint search for an electronic medical record system. After extensive evaluation, the groups had agreed on the EMR software, but were unable to find an independent party to host the application in the requisite manner.

“The hosting solutions that we reviewed were cumbersome and expensive, as many of the hosts were merely leasing data center space from another company. There were still middlemen and layers to wade through for support,” said Scott Lilly, administrator of Ventura Orthopedic and Sports Medicine. “LightEdge was the only provider to meet our needs with multiple, privatelyowned and operated data centers, and an affordable solution that was customized to our specific requirements.”

According to Mark Anderson, chief executive officer and healthcare futurist with AC Group, Inc., a healthcare technology advisory and research firm, the market is evolving towards independent third-party hosting for healthcare software. In a recent survey of nearly 2,500 participants, AC Group found that 40 percent of clinics with fewer than 50 users and 75 percent of clinics with more than 500 users prefer a third-party hosted model over a vendor-hosted or internally-hosted infrastructure, and this trend appears to be rising.

“The technology is finally right for electronic medical records, practice management and ePrescribing applications to be delivered through a hosted model. Our direct customer interaction allows LightEdge to act as a consultant, ensuring that the solution we offer meets our customer’s needs and their budget,” remarked Scott Riedel, product marketing manager for LightEdge Solutions.

“Knowing that our servers are being professionally maintained and that our data is secure means we have one less thing to worry about in the changing healthcare field,” said Jean Raives, administrator for the Center for Orthopaedic Specialists.

All administrators sited a ten-year track record, compliance with SAS-70 initiatives, the ownership of multiple data centers, a diversified product portfolio and a dedicated 24/7 engineering team as factors that contributed to their decision to choose LightEdge.

Microsoft Partners Program IMPACT Awards honor Microsoft’s Canadian technology partners’ and their commitment to customer satisfaction

TORONTO, October 2, 2006 – Ceryx announced that it has been selected as a finalist in the Solution Awards for Advanced Infrastructure Solution of the Year at the 2006 Microsoft Partner Program IMPACT Awards. The fourth annual Microsoft Partner Program IMPACT Awards acknowledge the exceptional work technology partners in Canada are doing with Microsoft-based technologies and software to deliver innovative solutions and unmatched value to their customers.

“Each year, technology partners continue to raise the bar in technology innovation and reaffirm their ability to deliver specific solutions that help meet customer demand,” said Lora Gernon, Director, Partner Group, Microsoft Canada Co. “The 2006 finalists demonstrated strong expertise in a diversity of markets and the Microsoft Partner Program IMPACT Awards celebrate the innovative solutions they developed to help drive real business growth.”

Ceryx was chosen as a finalist in Solution Awards for Advanced Infrastructure Solution of the Year for their highly available Hosted and Managed Exchange services. Ceryx pioneered the 100% SLA to the Exchange messaging community and to date is the only company with the technology capable of backing up the guarantee.

Email is the most mission critical business tool for communications with employees, vendors and customers. Ceryx responded to this need by creating a system that offered unparalleled uptime and performance capable of withstanding any type of disaster coupled with an integrated, industry leading solution for controlling spam and virus threats.

Ceryx built a Hosted Exchange 2003 (HX) infrastructure that is fully geographically redundant with no single point of failure that could affect the customer’s ability to use their messaging or collaboration platform. Ceryx has incorporated unsurpassed levels of security into the solution to ensure that all malicious activity is barred from entry at the geographically redundant perimeter.

Customers have benefited from the solution by substantially higher availability than a traditional clustered Exchange infrastructure at considerably lower operational cost. Partnering with Ceryx has given customers the opportunity to receive quality and highly available email, hygiene, real time business continuity and disaster recovery services from a single vendor at one low monthly cost per user.

“We are very pleased to be an Impact Awards finalist for the Advanced Infrastructure Solution of the Year.
