Microsoft announces use of microSD on some Windows Phone 7 models

As we all know, Microsoft recently unveiled their Windows Phone 7 OS which will be showing up in a host of mobile devices soon. The storage question has been hanging in the air for some folks so Microsoft took to the airwaves today to clarify some things.

Some of the units, Samsung Focus(pictured) included, will be using microSD cards for storage. These will be used for memory expansion on top of the already in-phone memory.

This should be a relief to some people out there. There is one caveat, however. You can not hot-swap microSD cards.  In other words, you can not change your cards while the phone is running.  You must hard-power off the handset, then switch, and then finally turn it back on, in order for a new card to be recognized.
