Quest Software, Inc. today introduced an alternative capacity-based licensing program for NetVault Backup customers. The perpetual licensing model is offered for the NetVault product line along with the company’s standard licensing model, allowing customers to choose a variety of different licensing programs.

The new licensing model also applies to all NetVault Backup application plug-ins, which cover leading applications such as Oracle, SQL Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint, MySQL, VMware, and Hyper-V.

“Organizations are facing a growing set of data-protection challenges on a daily basis as they work to manage complex heterogeneous physical and virtual environments. With the introduction of capacity-based pricing, Quest’s customers now have the flexibility to implement a solution in the manner that best fits the specific needs of their organization.” says Matt Vitale, vice president, worldwide data protection sales, Quest Software.
